June 2013: The Limestone County Legislative Delegation presented the Limestone County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments with the funding for 18 new AEDs to be used at the volunteer fire departments throughout Limestone County.
August 2013: Senator Bill Holtzclaw and Representative Dan Williams presented the Athens-Limestone Hospital Foundation with funding for new hospital beds and mattresses at the Foundation's Annual Luncheon.
August 2013: Governor Bentley's Road to Economic Recovery Tour spent the day in Athens and Limestone County. Senator Bill Holtzclaw, Senator Arthur Orr, and Representative Dan Williams enjoyed lunch with local and state leaders at LuVici's in Athens.
September 2013: Senator Bill Holtzclaw and Representative Dan Williams presented funding to Athens Fire and Rescue for 7 new AEDs, as well as 2 new AEDs for the Athens Sportsplex.
September 2013: The Limestone County Legislative Delegation presented the Limestone County Council on Aging with funding for 5 new AEDs for each senior center in Limestone County.
January 2014: The Limestone County Legislative Delegation presented the Athens-Limestone Public Library Foundation with funding to aid in the completion of the new public library that will be located on South Jefferson Street.
July 2014: Senator Bill Holtzclaw and Representative Dan Williams provided funding to Athens Fire and Rescue for the purchase of a new all-terrain vehicle with trailer and 75-gallon water tank with pump. This vehicle will allow Athens Fire and Rescue to provide assistance in more remote areas, along greenways, around the Square during events, and after natural disasters and emergencies when areas are difficult to access by fire engine.
